New Year's Eve Game Celebration!

This location is shown only to members

Come and celebrate New Year's Eve with Games, Food, Fun and Prizes!!!!

A great time to share and learn those new games you got over the holidays. Board games, card games, party games - bring 'em & we'll play 'em!

What should you bring?
* Potluck item to share
* A few games to play (Mike and I will bring a bunch so if you don't want to bring yours, there will be plenty to choose from!)
* Your families and friends - this event is open to all!
* Your own beverages if you want something special (water & pop will be provided)

We will provide lots of games, beverages, prizes and supplies to make your own New Year's Eve Party Hat!

We will be asking for a $5 donation per adult with kids 13 and under free! This helps us pay for the space and other incidentals. A pretty cheap way to spend New Year's Eve!!!

If you choose to bring your own games - please make sure you mark them well. If you have specific games you want Mike and I to bring, please list in your RSVP and I will do my best to bring all requested games.

Thanks again to St Albert the Great Parish for lending us their basement social hall. The basement of St. Albert's has lots of tables, a kitchen and plenty of space to spread out! (There is also a small children's play area if you have little ones.) Please use the doors on the west side of the church and come downstairs to basement. Signs will be posted. Elevator access is at the door on the corner of 29th street and 32nd Ave - behind the statue. Parking is available in the lot across the street from the church, in a lot behind the church\school and on the streets. http://www.saintalber...

We will be bringing out the big prize wheel. If you want to "re-gift" anything you got from Christmas but don't need bring it along and we'll add it to the prize table.

Also - if anyone is available to come early to set up tables or stay late to help clean up, let me know. All help is appreciated.

Happy Holidays!

    It's a great location and the people were polite and jovial. The hosts were especially friendly. However I felt the invitation was misleading. I thought I was going to a meeting of numerous people who play the modern myriad range of robust, complex games that are played in the boardgaming hobby. Instead it was church family night with a room full of parents and young children. The invitation stated the hosts owned 3,000 games so I didn't bring very many of what I like to play; it turns out that all of the supplied games are family games, children's games, and whimsical party games. If I had known that, I would have brought more of the economic/political/historical/exploration boardgames that my hobby commonly plays. If these meetups were described more accurately, people would not be dissapointed or disillusioned, and could attend the meetups that more closely match what they want to do.
