Mike and Nadine's House (map)
All true board game enthusiasts have a good story concerning the board game Risk and we are no exception. I never finished a game when I was a kid because someone would always get mad half way through and scatter the pieces everywhere. In college this is the only game I could get people to play and it often ended in actual fights. Good times.
Well we are all all much more civilized now aren't we? In spite of the risk (see what I did there?), due to popular demand we are hosting a meetup event at our house all day Saturday May 1st. We may be playing other games but we will always be playing risk. We have the original of course as well as Lord of the Rings Risk, Risk 2210, Risk N Roll 2000 (nothing to do with the more popular game), and even a silly game called Castle Risk. In fact, there are many versions of Risk available that we don't have, so if you have one, bring it on by!
Those who wish to wager on eventual outcomes may participate, but this certainly is not a requirement. If the weather is nice outside, then we will be even playing Risk in the backyard and grilling food as well. So those who wish to wager should bring some gambling resources and everyone is encouraged to bring something to grill and something to drink as well. Alcoholic beverages are fine as long as they won't hamper the game play of Risk (like they did in college).
Please come to our house and play some Risk. Plenty of dice will be rolled in the grand conquest for power and with nice weather and good food we should all have a good time and minimally reduce the risk (!) of all those stories we remember from our youth. Hope to see you there!
