The Twin Cities Boardgames Group first major Road Trip!

Join Mike and Nadine in a weekend of board games at the 2007 Chicago Toy and Game Fair (CHITAG). This is an event for game players, those who want to see the new games coming out, educators who want to learn more about using games in your curriculum, and game inventors!

CHITAG is being held on Saturday, November 17th & Sunday, November 18th at the Renaissance Hotel and Expo Center in Schaumburg, IL (32 mi NW of Chicago)

The exhibit hall is open 10-6 on Saturday & Sunday. There are also other special events - check out the schedule at

If you want to go to any events, you need to pre-register. Otherwise, tickets for the exhibit hall are $10/day $18/both days for adults and half that price for children.

There are $119 hotel rooms available at the Schaumburg Hotel (http://www.chitag.com/hoteldeal.html) but there are also other cheaper hotels that are within a couple miles too when I checked on Hotels.com ($62-85 night) that are closer to the Woodfield Mall.

If you are interested in attending please indicate and then I can help arrange carpools, hotels, etc.

This will be a fun weekend and a good time to check out gift game ideas for the holidays! Last time we went we met game desigers and actually got a couple free games too.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the responses to my previous email. I am setting up meetups for three Mondays in a row at the new Tower Games in south Minneapolis. Hopefully we can all make it to at least one of them.

We will start each meetup earlier since the store closes at 8. The new store is easy to get to as it is right on Nicollet and just off 35W. John the owner is still setting up the store but will have plenty of tables for us.

So bring along a few of your favorite games and perhaps some refreshment and we will all welcome the new store to our gaming group. Hope to see you there!
