Due to the response of my last email, I am scheduling a nice little meetup for next Monday (the 15th) at the Chatterbox Pub in St. Paul. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Chatterbox Pub is all about games and has plenty of board games (as well as video games) available to play. So we'll meet and have some dinner and play some games. We might also talk a bit about the big game party on February 3rd.

If you don't have anything scheduled next Monday night, stop by and play a game or two and get to know the rest of us. No big deal!

Sorry we didn't get a chance to meetup over the last two weekends, but a new member Eva suggested this which sounds like a good idea and not too stressful or to much work during the holidays....

{How about a happy hour / play a game type of event on monday
night? 6:30-ish @ Chatterbox Pub 800 Cleveland Ave St. Paul.
The food is good, and the atmosphere is a really laid back,
funky kind of lounge setting. They have all the board games
there, and there's even the vintage nintento games to play for
a fee. (No charge for the board games)}

So those who have the time and would like to take a break from turkey leftovers should show up at the new Chatterbox Pub in Highland Park in St. Paul. Should be fun!

Hello everyone!

Since we have had two meetups now with the last one being our big game party, it is time to show our big boardgame collection. From the pictures from the last party, you can see that we have plenty of board games to play. When you see our big collection, you will get the true idea of all the games we have. Plus, we would like to get some insight from all the board game players out there on what other games we might be looking for.

So if you want to see our big collection as well as spend a nice Tuesday evening playing a few games, feel free to drop by. Newcomers are welcome as well as it is always good to introduce yourselves early to the group.

Our house isn't some palacial estate so we don't have room for everyone so we have to put a cap on the size. But it should be fun for those who come. I'm sure a lot of you will have fun comments on our collection.

So stop by Tuesday next and check out our game collection as well as play a few games if you like. If nothing else, it will be a nice social gathering. When you sign our guest book, sign with both your name and your favorite game so we can get a sense of what to bring to the next meetup.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Because Mike and I are frantically trying to can (make jam, pear butter, brandy pears) all the pears from our pear tree we will be combining our September Meetup event with an existing annual game party that we have been throwing for several years.

Because we expect a large turnout (there were about 100 people who attended our last party) we hold these game parties in our local church social hall (basement). This party is for everyone - all ages! It's a great family event so bring the kids and invite your friends and relatives too.

Details:
Mike and I will provide:
All games to play - board games, card games, games of skill, party games
Big wheel of prizes and prizes - we will have many, many games to give away.

You provide:
Potluck item (food or beverage) to share
Item or game for the prize table (we do not expect new items - great time to regift something!)

If you would like to suggest a specific game, please make sure to do so in your rsvp. We have over 2000 so hopefully we have that specific game you are looking for. NOTE: Most of our games are pre 1980 although we do have a nice collection of newer games too and will bring games from the early 20th century to games released in the past few years. We will also be bringing games appropriate for all ages but if you have young ones let us know ages so we can make sure we have games picked out just for them!

Hello everyone,

One of our members, Christine, has volunteered for us to use one of the meeting rooms at her apartment complex for our next meetup. Here is a portion of her message.

"It's at 4725 Minnetonka Boulevard in St. Louis Park, called
Park Hill Apartments, on the corner of Minnetonka and Ottawa.
It's on the number 17 bus line (the stop is right in front)."

We will no doubt have some signs posted when we all get there to let everyone know exactly where the meeting room is. We all should bring at least one game to share and/or play. We are looking forward to meeting some of the other board game collectors. This should be a lot of fun!
